Discover Wallace :: Recreation
Like many coastal communities, a favorite pastime is to enjoy the pristine
beaches of the N.C. Southeastern coastline. The beaches to choose from,
such as Wrightsville,
Topsail,
Bald
Head and Myrtle, offer up many fun filled activities. With Wilmington's
broad culture you can visit the beach, charter a deep sea fishing boat,
visit the aquarium
or the many art galleries,
as well as a taste of the west coast with a tour of the film
studios that are always active, and wonderful dining experiences with
a wide variety of restaurant choices.
Golf is premier in the Wallace area with two golf courses. River
Landing, a championship 36-hole golf course community offering golf,
tennis, swimming, fitness, and nature trails for its residents, members,
and guests. Rockfish Country Club is an 18-hole private course offering
public play, along with an Olympic size swimming pool for its members.
Inland recreational activities in the Wallace area include water sports
on local lakes and the river. Other avid recreational activities enjoyed
year-round include hunting and fishing in the many natural areas in the
region which abound with
game and fish.
Arts have not been forgotten in the area. Plays and concerts are performed
in the outdoor Wanoca Theatre and the Wallace-Rose Hill High School Fine
Arts Center.
There is something for everyone in Wallace.
